PORTFOLIO AND CASE STUDY REVIEWS FOR PRODUCT DESIGNERS
Turn your design work into a story that gets you hired
You’ve been there. You apply for a job you know you’re qualified for but get no response. Or maybe you land an interview, feel things are vibing, only to find out your portfolio review fell short.
As a content design leader and IC, I’ve seen many amazingly talented product designers go underrecognized because of how they’re presenting their work. Even the most highly relevant case studies can get overlooked if they’re not positioned in a clear, compelling way.
Design hiring managers are humans, and humans respond to stories—ones created by humans. Having a portfolio that tells a good story gives you an edge in an increasingly competitive job market that’s drowning in A.I. slop.
I review design portfolios specifically for narrative, positioning, and writing so your work gets the attention it deserves.
Let’s make your portfolio great,
Sara Calabro, Founder and Lead Writer at Just Copy
What’s included
Content review of the overall structure and messaging of your design portfolio
This is not a design critique where I provide feedback on visual presentation or UI craft—you’re the expert there. I’m looking specifically at narrative, positioning, and writing to ensure that your portfolio tells a clear, complete, and compelling story that hiring managers want to hear.
Content review of up to 3 case studies showcasing your design work
Again, my focus here is on the narrative, positioning, and writing of your individual case studies. These are the real meat of your portfolio, and they’ll take centerstage during the interview process. I’ll advise on everything from project ordering and length to headline and description copy.
Copy cleanup of your entire portfolio
You may not be applying to be a writer but attention to detail is a critical skill for product designers. If your portfolio has typos, misspellings, and grammatical errors, it decreases confidence and raises questions about your ability to catch design details. I’ll take a copyediting pass through your entire portfolio so it’s clean as a whistle.
Succinct, fast deliverables

The process
Pay for your portfolio review
Portfolio reviews are $850. That includes everything mentioned above. If you want additional case studies reviewed, you can pay for those later ($250 per case study). Everyone starts with the initial batch of 3 and we’ll go from there.
Complete the survey
Once you’ve paid, within 24 hours you’ll receive a message prompting you to fill out a brief survey. Your responses will likely give me everything I need to perform your review. If I need more information or files, I’ll reach out with that request.
Review recommendations
When I’ve completed your review, I’ll email you a video walkthrough and written notes detailing my recommendations. Our back and forth is almost always handled async but if it seems more efficient to hop on a brief call, I’ll let you know.
